Excellent racket

I've been using my Senshu racket for about a month now. It took a little getting used to at first but once I got accustomed to it, I find it hard to play with any other racket. I can say that because of it my game has improved tremendously in all aspects: control, smash and speed. I can reach for balls that I never would have gone after before, my smashes are harder to return and my services carry a spin that is dificult to control by my opponents who feel that I've become a player not to take for granted. This being my first Butterfly paddle, not knowing if it's a tradition with them, I find the handle to feel smaller than the Stiga or Sportcraft I had been using before. (This too, takes some getting used to).
One point to be careful about is that the rubber is very fragile. I can tell how many times I have hit the paddle against the table because it carries the marks. Also, I play outside and as the game proceeds, the rubber gets dirty and its performance suffers. I clean it after every session. For this, I just use a soft sponge and minimal water. Sometimes, I add a little soap being careful not to wet the wood and then I remove the soap with a clean wet sponge again, letting it dry by waving it. I also clean the balls since dust and dirt affects their performance also.
The Senshu is an excellent racket that I recommend to anyone starting to take table tennis seriously and not wanting to invest in the time, money and skills it takes to assemble separate blades and rubbers. |
A great Improvement

| I played a lot from ages 10-14 and hadn't really played since. I recently started again at age 41 with terrible knees. After a few weeks I knew I needed to upgrade my paddle. This thing is greatness - but not recommended for an absolute beginner. It will make you work for control but elevate the spin and power game to a new level. Highly recommended and worth every penny. Be sure to wipe down the delightfully tacky Flextra rubber with water if/when it gets dirty or dusty. |
Best racket for myself

| I was recently borrowing a friend's Kenji racket, I loved it but I was still kinda off on my smashes. I tried to get the Kenji on Amazon but it was sold out. But after reviewing other paddles I think with the stats on the Senshu it would be good for me and I was totally right. I had it for 3 days and it took me a day to adjust. It is heavier than the Kenji. 90% of my smashes are landing now and I haven't lost yet out of 40 games. The people I played against usually win 50/50 of the games we play, but now, they are trying real hard to win. Oh, the control on this paddle is really hard but its coming. some of the games I allow people to smash so I can practice control. But overall I'm on top of my game with this paddle. I love it. |

| This paddle is pretty amazing definitely for the offensive player. Speed is rated at 100 and produces some killer slams with very heavy topspin a very good racket to upgrade to from one of those crappy sports craft ones. However, the rubber is fragile so be careful. Simply wash the rubber with a paper towel after use and the rubber will stay sticky. This racket is my new best friend i have to refrain from using it when i play with my friends cause it is simply so good. |

| First off this paddle is delivered in a box just telling everyone because that one review saying it didn't come in one. Well me and my friend wanted to step our game up from these really bad rubber paddles we got at dick's sporting goods so we looked online and thought the senshu would be great for us. When we got it on my front porch and opened it we were so excited. The rubber is very tacky and lint and dust easily gets caught on it so make sure to wipe it down with a damp sponge but not too damp. Get this paddle if you feel like you need much more spin on your serves or top spin drives. Be ready though because this thing is so hard to control at first. When me and my friend were serving it to each other the spin was magnified. If it was a side spin it would shoot across after hitting the paddle but we got use to the spin and learned soon how to counter it in a hour or too. So buy this paddle if you're wanting to improve your control very much~ Love this paddle |

I got back recently into table tennis, and my old racket was just not good enough for me to improve. So i did some research and this racket was fitting the bill. Three month later, i am very happy with the quality i got for the price. I might have to upgrade it at some point to a faster rubber (customized racket), but it has excellent control and fast enough to keep up with some high level players. For pre made racket, it is excellent, so unless you are a pro, this racket should fit the bill.
UPdate: After playing it for about 8 month, here is what i think. Its good to start out, has a good control, decent spin, it is slow compared to some custom made rackets. As i got better i started noticing some minuses. One, it just too slow against good players, you wont be slaming much past good player. Two, its slow. I am offensive player and when my attacks are not getting through because ball is too slow. Some very high rated guys mentioned that its slow and i should think of upgrading paddle. Which i did today, got custom racket.
That said, its very good for someone who is good, but not tournament level. Great control, infact, its control is much better then its speed. I can aim on spot on the table, and usual hit it spot on. Spin is ok. Not amazing. |
Great for the novice who wants to "up" their game.

| This is a great paddle for some one who knows what they are doing. If you haven't developed your style yet and don't have the control for spin and power, this isn't the paddle for you. The smashes are fast and the spin is great, but I noticed that without spin it is very hard to keep it on the table because of the speed. It can be used defensively, which I am suprised at because it is an offensive paddle. This paddle is not for beginners, or even players who are just starting spin. Work on ball placement before getting this paddle or you won't be able to keep it on the table. |
Terrific Racket, Good Price

| I received this racket yesterday in the mail, and I immediately fell in love with it. It's interesting that the first reviewer found this to be a lighter racket compared to the Carlos Chiu, for I found the Senshu to be heavier. In any event, I consider this racket to be the big brother to the Chiu. It's definitely for the offensive player, for it's wicked fast that produces killer slams. Getting use to it for defensive play will take some time, but once you do, you have one terrific racket and a very good price. Offensive players, give this racket a test run. |
